

The command seems to work fine if I only have a vector in the text file, but if I have a matrix, matlab will change the structure of the data and store the matrix as a vector. For example, the integer NaNis represented as zero in MATLAB. Is textscan the correct command to use when importing data from text files into matlab. I know I have to use textscan to accomplish this but I am unsure of the formatspec options needed to achieve this, since whichever setting I use seem to give me some jumbled form of cell output. Textscan ()is designed to convert numeric fields to a specific output type, following MATLAB rules with respect to the process of overflow, truncation, and the application of NaN, Inf, and -Inf. These are coordinates to regions of interest for each category in an image. When textscan reads the input, it attempts to match the data to the format specified in the format specification, formatSpec, as detailed in the documentation.
